West Plains Education Foundation Celebrates Winter 2023 Classroom Innovation Grant Winners
Cutting-edge classrooms continue to be cultivated thanks to the West Plains Education Foundation.
The West Plains Education Foundation announced today that 16 West Plains School District educators earned Classroom Innovation Grants for the 2022-2023 second semester. Combined, these grants equal nearly $6,500 to stoke the 21st Century teaching and learning that is a hallmark of classrooms across the district. This semester's grant recipients include a wide range of projects led by teachers at five schools and several programs.
"The teachers who won innovation grants from the foundation this semester represent the excellence demonstrated every day by our faculty," Superintendent Dr. Wesley Davis said. "I'm grateful for the foundation's support, and I'm excited to see what these teachers do with these funds."
The West Plains Education Foundation helps teachers incorporate new tools and techniques that enrich students' educational experiences. These grants are one of the most important ways that foundation leaders allocate donations from the community, according to WPEF Board Chair John Richards.
"We want West Plains School District families and friends to see that their support for the foundation has a very direct and positive impact on classrooms in our schools," Richards said. "We love seeing the joy a teacher experiences when they realize they can turn their vision into a reality for their students."
The West Plains Education Foundation was organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Its funds develop and assist with programs that promote students' academic success. The foundation has awarded over $130,000 in classroom innovation grants for teachers to date. To find out more or to donate, email news@zizzers.org or call 417-256-6150.
