More than 120 senior residents from the West Plains area attended the first Annual Silver Shoes Prom on Friday evening. The event was free to any senior citizen in the area and included corsages, dinner, and dancing. Special entertainment included music by the West Plains High School Jazz Band and the West Plains High School Choir. The prom also included a photo area where attendees could pose for a snapshot of the unforgettable evening.
The prom was an effort to connect students with the community and was organized by the West Plains High School student council. The prom was possible because of generous donations of Christena Silvey- Coleman, the West Plains Optimist Club and the West Plains Education Foundation.
