USDA Extends Free Meals Through September – Free & Reduced Forms Still Needed

The USDA extended its free-meal program into this school year. All students will qualify for a free breakfast and a free lunch through the end of September. Students will go through the process like normal, but when they go to pay, it will be free.  This only includes our traditional plated lunch items. Ala carte items will remain at al-a-carte prices and do not fall under the free meal category.  If the program is extended after September, the district will send an update.

There are still many reasons you should consider filling out the Free & Reduced Lunch Form. If your family qualifies for free or reduced meals, your student may also qualify for:

-Free ACT tests (up to four)

- Free college applications at participating schools

- Waivers for recreational sports teams

- 1 free dual credit call from MSU-WP for both spring and fall semesters.

On top of that, the District's Free & Reduced participation rate directly affects increased funding for school programs as well as increased opportunities for grants.

Forms will be sent home with students next week, can be found online here or available at our school buildings.
