Incredible Outpouring of Community Support for "For the Love of ZIzzer Sports" Night

LZ

The West Plains School District hosted an overwhelming successful "For the Love of Zizzer Sports" night on Thursday, September 8. The event revolved around the uniqueness of 5 home games, including softball, tennis, middle school and high school volleyball, and Zizzer football. The entire community was invited to wear red, watch their favorite teams play at home, and enjoy the vendor booths made possible by Kiwanis Club of West Plains, Ice Queens – Tropical Sno, and Kettle Corn by Curtright Catering. The admission price was a canned/non-perishable food or monetary donation to the Bridges program.

Over 800 canned/non-perishable items and over $2,200 in cash were donated to the Bridges Program by the people of our community.

"We had such a great night. Thank you to everyone for making it such a success. We cannot even begin to describe how truly fortunate we are to live in such a supportive community. We are already working to make "For the Love of Zizzer Sports" an annual event," says Tammy Miller, Activities Director.

"We were amazed at the donations that were delivered by our students this morning. The outpouring of donations from our community will help so many of our students and their families. We are extremely thankful," said Cyndi Wright, Director of the Bridges Program.

“We are so appreciative of the community support of our event and our Bridges Program. Our community is always so giving, and this event was a powerful testament to just that. Thank you,” says Jim Thompson, Board of Education President.
