West Plains R-VII School District Names Top 6 Educator of the Year Finalists

The West Plains R-VII School District is proud to announce its Top 6 Educator of the Year Finalists a group of outstanding educators who represent the heart of our schools and the spirit of our community.

After receiving dozens of heartfelt nominations from students, parents, colleagues, and community members, the district has selected one finalist from each building. These educators were surprised with their Building Level Educator of the Year titles on April 8, 2025.

They are:
Camisha Hunter – South Fork Elementary
Angie Hunt – West Plains Elementary
Autumn Galiher – West Plains Middle School
Kirsten Peterson – West Plains High School
Jessica McKee – Southern Missouri Technical Institute
Shandon Rhoads – Zizzer Pride Academy

Each finalist has gone above and beyond to inspire, support, and lead students across the district. The excitement will continue on May 14, when one of these exceptional educators will be named the District Level Educator of the Year at the annual faculty and staff awards banquet.
