West Plains Middle School Football Moves to Morning Practices for the 2025 Season

West Plains Middle School Football Moves to Morning Practices for the 2025 Season

Important changes are coming to the Middle School Zizzer Football program. Beginning with the fall 2025 season, middle school football practices will now take place in the morning, starting at 6 a.m. and concluding at 7:30 a.m. Students will be able to be dropped off as early as 5:30 a.m.

This MSHSAA Cooperative program includes West Plains, Glenwood, Howell Valley, Fairview, Junction Hill, and Richards schools and serves 7th and 8th grade student athletes.

To support students, locker room showers will be available, and players will receive a free grab-and-go breakfast after practice. Rural school athletes will also be transported back to their respective schools by their school’s transportation.

Key Benefits of the Change:

  • Increased involvement from the high school football coaching staff and student-athletes.
  • Greater flexibility for rural school students to participate in their school’s activities.
  • The students can be on the turf field where they will play their actual games.
  • The MSHSAA heat requirements for middle school students will not be an issue for the morning practice.

This new schedule ensures that student athletes receive valuable coaching while maintaining opportunities to stay active in the schools they attend.
