The West Plains R-VII School District is pleased to announce Michael Davis has been approved as the next Coordinator of At Risk Services and Director of the Zizzer Pride Academy (ZPA).

Davis has been employed with the district since 2018, beginning his career on the maintenance and custodial staff crews, a role he has continued each summer. Mr. Davis has also served as a paraprofessional in the SWAT program before beginning his teaching career in July 2020 as a ZPA Special Education teacher. After two years at ZPA, he transitioned to 5th grade science and social studies, where he has served for the past three years. In addition to his classroom experience, Mr. Davis has coached middle school football for four years and tennis for two.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from William Woods University.

Mr. Davis will begin his new role on July 1, 2025.
