Stacy Kerley Named 2025 Zizzer Champion of the Year
The West Plains R-VII School District has named Stacy Kerley the 2025 Zizzer Champion of the Year, honoring her with $250 in Chamber gift certificates from the West Plains Education Foundation for her lifesaving actions.
In November, what began as an ordinary morning at West Plains Middle School quickly became critical. While a student was visiting with friends before class, they suddenly experienced a medical emergency. Nurse Kerley responded immediately, performing CPR and rescue breathing until an AED could be used. Her quick response and skilled intervention helped save the student’s life.
Kerley’s actions embody the Zizzer spirit—courage, compassion, and dedication.

Julie Rasmussen embodies what it means to be a Zizzer—thoughtful, compassionate, and committed to making a difference. Whether she’s working 1:1 with a student, supporting in the classroom, or riding morning and afternoon special services routes, Julie gives her all—every single day.
She never shies away from a challenge and is always ready to help in any way she can. Her drive, her heart, and her belief that this is her “calling” are exactly why she’s so deserving of this honor.
Bruce Vincent Named West Plains R-VII Volunteer of the Year
Some people show up when asked. Bruce Vincent shows up before you even ask.
From late night fundraisers to early morning cooking, Bruce is the heart behind countless community efforts supporting FFA, athletics, and school events with humility and passion. Even after his son graduated, Bruce never stopped showing up.
