Board of Education to Welcome 2025–2026 Student Representative at August Meeting
At the August 2025 board meeting, the West Plains R-VII Board of Education will officially welcome McKrae Brewer, a West Plains High School student, as the 2025–2026 student school board representative. McKrae was selected at the March 2025 board meeting. This marks the second year for the student representative position, first held by current senior Emma Arnold.
In this nonvoting, advisory role, Brewer will serve as a student liaison between the student body and the board of education, offering insight, sharing updates, and helping to ensure student perspectives are part of the conversation. She will also provide monthly reports on high school activities and events throughout the school year. She will also meet monthly with Superintendent Dr. Davis to discuss ideas to “bridge the gap” between the student body and the school board.
Brewer is a member of the Zizzer softball team and is actively involved in National Honor Society, Student Council, and BETA Club.
Brewer earned the position through a competitive process that included an application, two separate interviews, and letters of recommendation. Her term will begin in August 2025.
