APPLYING FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FSA)

Effective May 10, 2015, the U.S. Department of Education implemented the FSA ID which consists of a username and password. Your FSA ID will be used to log into the following FSA sites:

If you do not already have an FSA ID, you can create one when logging in to studentaid.gov, the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS®) at nsldsfap.ed.gov, studentloans.gov, and Agreement to Serve (ATS) at www.teach-ats.ed.gov.

When you go to studentaid.gov, click the link to start the FAFSA Form. If you have never submitted a FAFSA, choose the Start New Form option, which will ask you to create an account (FSA ID) and follow the step-by-step instructions. If you have previously submitted a FAFSA, use the Log In link. Also, if you have an FSA PIN number, you will be able to link it to your FSA ID.

After reviewing your information, you will read and accept the terms and conditions of the FSA ID.

Confirm your e-mail address using the secure code, which will be sent to the e-mail address you entered when you created your FSA ID. Once you verify your e-mail address, you can use it instead of your username to log in to the websites.

Please use caution when accessing FSA sites! Many pirate sites exist and can attempt to charge you at the end of the application process. The application process is FREE at studentaid.gov!
