AN OVERVIEW OF OUR SENIOR CHAPTER
Welcome to the Zizzer Beta Club!NATIONAL BETA CLUB goals are to demonstrate character, leadership, achievement, and service in our school and in our community. THE WEST PLAINS SR. BETA CHAPTER is committed to preparing students to become active citizens in efforts to improve schools and communities.LEADERSHIP: This student-led organization is lead by a select group of juniors and seniors who serve as the executive Beta Council. The Council meets monthly to discuss projects and service activities that can help Beta Club members become more involved in volunteerism. Council members will be available during all lunches every two weeks to hand out reminders, collect dues or fundraising money, or answer questions.MEETINGS: Member meetings are scheduled each quarter to discuss upcoming activities, projects, fund-raising, convention trips, and great ideas for our club.1.1st Qtr: AUGUST 27 (Set yearly member goals)2. 2nd Qtr: NOVEMBER 5 (Convention registration due $20.00)3. 3rd Qtr: JANUARY 7 (Late Convention registration due $25.00)4. 4th Qtr: APRIL 7 (Dodgeball Tournament planning)(See file downloads below)QUALIFICATIONS: Beta members are expected to attend as many meetings as possible, complete 30 hours of acceptable service hours within the school or the community, maintain a B+ cumulative GPA, and demonstrate leadership and character as a model student and citizen.MEMBERSHIP: New Beta members are invited to join our organization during the fall semester. Qualifying sophomores, juniors, and seniors will receive invitations in late September to be inducted in the October ceremony.Junior Beta Club members, as freshman, automatically qualify for induction into the senior chapter. If you are a freshman this year and were an active member of your Jr. Beta chapter, please attend meetings and complete the service contract to confirm your membership. Dues must be paid to register your membership with the local and national roster. Freshman students who were not members of a Junior Beta Club can still qualify to join the senior chapter.
