Biography

  • Mrs. Walker was named West Plains Middle School Principal begining in the 2018-2019 academic school year.  Prior to her role as principal, Mrs. Walker served as the assistant principal for five years.   Before becoming the assistant principal, Mrs. Walker taught Family and Consumer Sciences and Social Studies at the middle school for 11 years.   Mrs. Walker was named the 2012-2013 Educator of the Year.   
     
    Mrs. Walker is a life-long resident of West Plains, and 1996 graduate of West Plains High School. Upon completion of high school, Mrs. Walker attended Southwest Missouri State University (now known as Missouri State) where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in elementary education. Mrs. Walker earned a Master of Education degree from William Woods University, where she studied middle and secondary educational administration.  Additionally, Mrs. Walker holds a Specialist of Education degree from Arkansas State University.  Mrs Walker holds Missouri teaching certificates in the areas of elementary education grades 1-6, family and consumer sciences grades 7-12, communication arts grades 5-9, and social sciences grades 5-9.   Mrs. Walker's additionally holds principal certification in both elementary and secondary education.       
     
    Mrs. Walker lives in West Plains with her husband, Kyle, and their children Gracelyn (14) and Brett (11). In her spare time Mrs. Walker enjoys reading, scrapbooking, cooking, traveling, entertaining, and spending time with her family and friends.
