I was born in West Plains, Missouri, and graduated from West Plains High School in 1986. I will always be a Zizzer!
I graduated from Missouri State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a Master of Social Work degree in 2000. I took additional graduate and undergraduate coursework from Missouri State University to finish my Certification as a K-8 Counselor in 2012. I am a former Instructor for Drury and Lindenwood Universities having taught since 2001. I also have several volunteer activities and serve on several boards that keep me very busy.
On March 14, 2016, West Plains Elementary was awarded a Professional Therapy Dog named Lucy. We spent a week training together in Concordia, Kansas, to become a Certified Canine Assistance Team. She has over 2,500 hours of training to do what she does and she loves her job. Lucy has become an important and beloved part of West Plains Elementary and we are fortunate to have her services as a resource.
I will begin my thirteenth year at West Plains Elementary during the 2019-2020 school year. I love what I do and am excited to come to work everyday. I am very proud of the students and staff at West Plains RV-II schools and especially West Plains Elementary.
