Inclement Weather

 Winter Weather

Please review these important reminders and answers to frequently asked questions about how we keep your Zizzer safe during inclement weather conditions.  Winter weather in the Ozarks can be unpredictable, and conditions can go from mild to harsh within a few short hours. It is important that we prepare in advance so that we are ready when winter weather strikes.

Inclement Weather/Emergency Contact Information

In the event of inclement weather or a school emergency that would result in early dismissal or the closing of schools, the district will:

  • Contact families using Blackboard, which can:
    • Call preferred phone numbers (home, cell, other emergency contacts)
    • Send out text messages to preferred phone numbers.
    • Send out e-mails to preferred accounts.
  • Update social media.
  • Update the district homepage at www.zizzers.org
  • Contact local and regional media.
  • Send notifications through the district app.

If you feel your contact information is incorrect and it needs to be updated, don't hesitate to contact your child's building secretary by calling 417-256-6150.

HOW SHOULD MY CHILD DRESS FOR SCHOOL ON THESE COLD DAYS?

We recommend that all students wear a hat, scarf, mittens, water resistant coat and boots, and layers of loose-fitting clothing. If you need assistance providing your child with winter gear, please contact your child’s building principal to connect with resources.
