 Keeping Our Zizzers Safe During Winter Weather

As winter approaches, we want to share some important reminders and frequently asked questions about how we keep your Zizzer safe during inclement weather. Winter in the Ozarks can be unpredictable — conditions can shift from mild to severe in just a few hours. Being prepared helps us respond quickly and keep everyone informed when winter weather strikes.

Inclement Weather/Emergency Notifications

In the event of snow, ice, or other emergencies that cause early dismissal, delayed start, or school closure, the district will notify families through several communication channels:

  • Finalsite District Notifications

    • Automated phone calls to your preferred numbers (home, cell, or emergency contacts)

    • Text messages to preferred numbers

    • Emails to preferred addresses

 

  • Additional Updates

    • Posted on the district website: www.zizzers.org

    • Shared on district social media channels

    • Sent through the district mobile app

    • Reported to local and regional media outlets

  • If your contact information has changed or appears to be incorrect, please contact your child’s school secretary at 417-256-6150 to update it.

HOW SHOULD MY CHILD DRESS FOR COLD WEATHER?

We recommend that all students come prepared for outdoor conditions with:
🧣 A hat and scarf
🧤 Mittens or gloves
🧥 A warm, water-resistant coat
🥾 Boots and layers of loose-fitting clothing
