Bo Pace - 2015
After graduating with the West Plains High School Class of 1970, where Pace served as senior class president, he attended State Fair Community College in Sedalia, MO and then returned to West Plains to begin his 40 year career in sales. He retired in 2014 from the Ozark Horse Trader and now enjoys spending time on the family farm as a cow/calf producer.
Pace served on the West Plains School District Board for 12 years, where he held the position of Vice President at the time he left office. Serving on school boards runs deep in the Pace family as his Dad, Brack Pace served on the inaugural Junction Hill R-12 School Board. Pace feels serving on the West Plains School District Board gave him insight into a forward thinking visionary school district dedicated to a high level of education.
An example of Pace’s determination to maximize educational opportunities for the West Plains School District, he served on the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA) where he was appointed to the nominating committee. Pace also attended a legislative forum in Washington, DC as a MSBA delegate to meet with federal lawmakers to discuss educational concerns and needs of our local district.
Pace is actively involved in the formation of the West Plains High School FFA Alumni Association, currently serves as Secretary of the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Booster, former board member of the University of Missouri Extension Council, serves as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of West Plains, volunteers for many activities with some of his favorites the Cystic Fibrosis Association of West Plains, MSU-West Plains and his top favorite, the West Plains School District. He has been the recipient of the 2004 Chairman’s Award presented by the Greater West Plains Chamber of Commerce and the 2006 Grizzly Track Award both in recognition of his public service and support of the West Plains Community.
“Pace exemplifies what it means to be a true Zizzer. He is the ultimate choice for the Distinguished Zizzer Alumnus Award. He has worked his entire life for the betterment of our community”, said Dr. John Mulford, West Plains Schools Superintendent of Schools.
