Daily Announcements


Zizzers who participated in 2009's Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State will give reports during each lunch period on February 10 in room 106.  All interested juniors thinking about attending the 2010 sessions are welcome.  Bring your own lunch if you plan to attend.

Can you put in the announcements that there will be a meeting for all boys interested in playing soccer next fall on Thursday, February 11 at 8:10am in Room 115.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be having a pizza luncheon on Thursday during 1st and 2nd lunch in Mr. Martz's Room (235).

There will be a pep bus going to Rolla on Friday, February 5th. The bus will leave at 3:00 p.m. Sign up in room 136 if interested.

Beta Club, National Honor Society, and FFA students: Please help decorate posters and collection cans for the Help Haiti project and earn service hours on Thursday, Feb. 5. Meet in Mrs. Shannon's room after school from 3:30 - 4:30.
 
The monthly Beta Club meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 8:00 a.m. in the library. New member induction ceremony will be Thursday, Feb. 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

English tutoring for the month of February will be Monday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm in Mrs. Momper's room and Thursday mornings from 7:20-8:20am in Mr. Quarti's room.

Renaissance cards for this semester will be student identification cards. Students should check the list outside of the downstairs office if they earned 2.9 GPA or above for first semester. Students who qualify for Renaissance need to take their cards to Mrs. Spoor's, room 204. The card will be punched so it may be identified as a free admit to school sports activities and the Mid-Winter dance. Students with a 3.6-4.0 GPA receive a full day of independent study and 2.9-3.5 GPA receive a half day. Please sign up for Renaissance days a least a day in advance in the downstairs office.

There will be a student council meeting today, February 3rd during 5th hour in room 131 with Dr. Czerwonka. All members are encouraged to attend.

Science tutoring is available Monday 3:30 to 4:30 pm in Mr. Roseman's room, 7:20 to 8:20 am Wednesday morning in Ms. Henderson's room, and 3:30 to 4:30 Thursday in Dr. Thompson's room.

If Seymour is out of school on Friday, January 29th, the Chess Tournament will be postponed to Feb. 6th.

Auditions for the Spring play have been rescheduled for February 8th from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and February 9th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Audtions are open to all, everyone welcome!

Students, please remember the public display of affection, when taken to excess, is not appropriate behavior at school.  Failure to comply with the reasonable expectations of the school staff will result in disciplinary action.  PDA is to be limited to hand-holding only. 

Students, please remember that headgear (hats, caps, bandannas, do-rags, sweatbands, hoods of any kind, etc.) are not to be worn on campus during school hours (from the
time the student arrives at school until the end of the school day).  In addition, students will not be permitted to carry headgear with them during the school day.  Failure to
comply may result in confiscation and will be considered a direct violation of the dress code policy.

Students, please remember shorts must be long enough to that the tip of the middle finger does not touch bare skin when the student is standing upright. Jeans or pants
with holes above the tip of the middle finger are not allowed (when standing upright).

Mid-Winter Queen will be crowned at the ballgame on Friday, Feb. 12th and Mid-Winter Dance will be on Saturday, Feb. 13th from 7-10.  Dress for the dance is semi-formal.

All students who did their tutoring last Semester need to turn in Parking Passes and A+ Badges by the end of the week.

Student directories are on sale for $1 in the Career Center Office.

Due to an increase in careless driving practices and problems with littering, loitering will no longer be allowed on campus after school hours.

The National Honor Society has scholarships for next year.  Pick up your application in Room 137.

Zizzers are honoring Zizzer Zara Petkovic through the collection of tabs from canned drinks  to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Collections may be deposited at the GES office in room 106 on Wednesdays and Fridays through April 2010. 

Students, if you have not picked up your student ID please do so before and after school or between classes in the downstairs office. You will need your ID when using your Renaissance card to get in to school activities.

The Middle School campus is off-limits to all HS students, unless the student has a class in the middle school. This includes before and after school
