1. The use of the West Plains R-VII School District Web site is a privilege which may be revoked by administrators at any time for abusive or inappropriate conduct. Such conduct would include, but is not limited to, the placing of unlawful information on the Internet and the use of obscene, abusive, or otherwise objectionable language or images in either public or private Web pages or messages. 2. The district reserves the right to inspect any material posted on the Web page to which individuals have access and will edit or remove any material which the district staff, in its sole discretion, believes may be objectionable. Users of the district Web site will not use their access to post in any manner objectionable materials. This includes text materials, video, images, or sound files that may be considered objectionable. 3. The District will monitor the activities of its Web site users, including faculty and students, and operate a technology protection measure (filtering device) on the Web site. No user will have the ability to disable the filtering device. 4. Faculty access to the District Web site is provided primarily for educational purposes under the direction of District staff. 5. The District and the contracted Web service, School Center, do not guarantee that the functions of the system will meet any specific requirements users may have, nor that it will be error-free or uninterrupted; nor shall it be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost information) sustained or incurred in connection with the use, operation, or inability to use the system. 6. Rules and regulations of Web site usage will occasionally be added or posted by District or Site Administration. All users of the Web site are subject to all rules and regulations. 7. District Web site user access is intended for the exclusive use of its registered users. Users are responsible for the use of the assigned account. Any problems that may arise from the use of a user account are the responsibility of the account holder. Any misuse will result in suspension of the account privileges. 8. Any unlawful use of material, such as using copyrighted material without the express written permission of the owner or the proper license is prohibited. 9. Student information, such as names and grades, shall not be posted on this Web site in public view. 10. Student photos may not be used without parental consent, according to the District Acceptable Use Policy. Information about such permissions may be obtained in building offices through the District student database. |
